No offense but too many people here aren't thinking outside of the box enough when it comes to link building. Sure directories and forum signatures are a good idea but these ideas seem to be recycled over and over again - these are some of the techniques that will help you slaughter the competition. 1 - Automate Your Link Building Did you even realize it was possible to automatically accumulate relevant links without you doing a think? All you will have to set up is another site dedicated to getting these links. Find out how at - Automate your link building. 2 - Take FULL Advantage of Free Blogs This does not just mean registering some free blogs and adding your links to it, this involves creating your own powerful free blog network that will boost your sites up the rankings immensly. Find out how at - Take Advantage of Free Blog Platforms. 3 - Submit to Absolutey Everything This might seem obvious but don't just restrict yourself to directory submissions or one type of link building. Use Social Networks, Social Portals - everything. I have a compiled a huge list of DoFollow links that I submit all of my websites too. Check out - The Massive List of DoFollow Links. Only through true perseverance and and doing things that your competitors aren't will you find true success. Peace out.
I read the article on "Automate your link building." and have to disagree. Directories are dead. Most of them are a fly by night industry - meaning a lot of them will be here today and gone tomorrow. When I first opened my forum, I submitted to every directory I could find. In all I must have submitted to around 100, maybe more. This was 2 1/2 years ago. Today, not a link directory that I submitted to shows up as linking to my site. In my google webmaster tools, links going to my site - not a single directory is listed. But, forums that I posted in 2 and 3 years ago still show up. Link building with forums and big blogging sites is much more effective then directories.
I have never had any real sucess with automated directory listing...the software i used was always more of a hindrance than a help, and when I did get it to work, I didn't see much improvement if any. I appreciate your dofollow list though, thanks a lot.
Google sees directory listing sites as spammy, this is bad SEO juice pointing to your site. Imagine it from Googles eyes; If you want to find out a whole listing of the best poker sites online what would you do, type in "poker sites" into google (best from their point of view), not find a spammy directory listing. The blog directory is ok, but again when you have outdated sites linking to you then it's not great. Try maintaining 5+ blogs and keeping them active not to drop in listings, it's no "simple" task.
Nice post. With the 10 Blogs thing, would you need to update the blog at least once a day to gain any benefit? Or could it be only once a week?
I have to disagree with your view, if only because you may not have understood the article. Sure, you may believe directories are dead AND you do not submit to them anymore, but just take a look at how many people respond to the DP threads of a new directory post. I myself do agree that directories are basically worthless now, but many still don't believe this. The idea about building a directory is to get the other sites backlinks to your "money" site, not the directory. Sure, your new directory you just built could not be indexed by google or even be online in 2-3 years, but all those backlinks could still be there. I think this is an ingenious idea. I do not have a links page on my site because I do not want garbage sites listed on my site, and I just don't like the whole reciprocal link thing. But this idea rocks.
you're on the right track, but a couple of points. The niche directory idea - you'll need some software to check they have put up a link to your target site. Blogs - not enough. You need 100 minimum. And they should be pumping backlinks towards your target sites (plural) every day or so, not just '1 page about the niche'. bloggerhigh.com has a good free ebook about using free blogs to get loads of backlinks.
No need to update every day, just update them whenever you add a new page to your site that you want to get indexed and ranking. There are plenty of directory scripts out there that check for a reciprocal link, all you have to do is modify it to check for a different link to the default one. Alternatively you can just manually review them, it would take only a minute or so per link and would still be well worth the effort. I really don't think you need a minimum of 100 for this to be effective. 10 is a strong foundation and a network of 10 very strong blogs is just as good if not better than 100 weak ones. They really don't have to pump out a back link every day, just use them to simply pump out a link every time you add a new page/post so that each page of your site is indexed and ranking well.
Thanks for the post. I fully agree with the free blog concept as it works. It takes some time, but it works.
Blogs are fantastic because you can create build and add any links you like and blogger is Google owned so get doing that my recent blog is already PR 4! Directories huge waste of time mostly...
what platform should i take for the blog tip ? wordpres or blogspot ? because i think that wordpres have a "related topics" addon that can be usefful for this tecnique.
Unique ideas I must agree but there is a problem with directory idea as you will have to spend time and effort promoting the directory site!
Except the first way othere 2 are good and appreciated it. But the first way really kill the site...no SEO are suggesting automatic way .. bcz its some time make wrong posting , to bad neighborhood
