3 Domains, one keyword - SEO solution

    Hello,

I have a website with the name of a company that sells something like carrots, let's say "company dot something"

I also bought two other domains, let's say "carrots.com" and "carr-ots.com"

I want to keep using my current website with the name of the company, but I am fairly sure that if I add some content to both of the other websites, they will rank high in Google on the keyword I am interested in. Can I add content to them and redirect them to "company dot something" or will Google penalize them? What should I do? I could just use them directly, but the name of the company is important, it is a real life store and people need to get familiar with it and know where to go after they visit the link.

    Thanks.

Google won't necessarily penalize each. Just try to spin the articles and use different keywords if you can so that the content is a little different. Also, you might want to add different images, videos, RSS Feeds, blogs, etc. to each one to make them look different from one another.

    Best of luck to you!

Thanks for responding. I have no problem in writing original content for each website, but will Google put those two on the front page if I add a redirect to both of them? Or does Google have something against websites that redirect to other websites?

From experience, Google will probably place those two before the redirected site in the SERPS for a short period, but than it will remove those rankings and slowly replace them with the redirected site.

Linking/ backlinking is great for websites, but Google sometimes ranks the website for redirects above the website it's coming from. Try to link/ backlink as much as you can and that will greatly help your SEO.

    All the best.

I don't think I would be looking to redirect traffic, dominate page 1 with all three sites and just pass link juice between them as you want.

google will not penalize it, but you will loss or decrease rankings, backlinks.. etc.. but that's normal.

what you are doing is correct except don't use a redirect . Use a direct hyperlink to the main company site from both the sites that will work better . Redirects are always suspicious to SE and also drain PR juice and authority .

If you will use redirect (java, php, 301...) your sites will be kind of doorways. Google don't like dorways. It's better to rank this sites and link them to main site.
