How good are 3 character domain names? I dont quite get their purpose(besides being very memorable).. well most of them.. i mean what to put on those sites when developed? specially ones without vowels and with numbers.
Like LLL or NLL or LNL.com and their .net and .org variation?

What are your thoughts on buying these?

There are some real good ones which are easy to remember. These are going to be the ones which are worth most for 'type in' traffic.

3 character domain names are generally easy to remember, if it is .com obviously it would worth to buy.

3 character names are good for mechandising.. e.g. If you had a company called erm, Design and Developement Specialists.. DDS would be a great shortened version, and could sometimes be more memorable.
