Hi DPForum, New member here, but I have a big passion for movies, so I would like to think this guide is worthy for some movie people like me. Now-a-days a lot of people have large movie collections in the computers, servers on media centers (I know I do!!). Therefore searching for the movie to watch, which could be in DVD, BluRay, XVid, AVI etc.. isn't the easiest thing for anyone! So, I have put together a little guide of the Movie Cataloger programs for Windows or Linux. I am in no way a promoter or affiliations for these programs, I just want to bring these really good programs to your attention! Collectorz Movie Collector http://www.collectorz.com Collectorsz Movie Collector you can browse your movie collection, add data and covers automatically, easily search your database, view statistic, export collection, loan manager to know who you have lent movies too. To all a new movie just type it's name or scan bar-code. The program has a very nice layout and is easy to use, following from that you can even connect it to your mobile device (iPhone, Android etc..) DVD Profiler http://www.invelos.com DVD Profiler allows you to add a new movie in your collection either by typing its title or by the UPC from the DVD case. You can also just insert your DVD in the drive and let DVD Profiler recognize it automatically. Of course it finds any info available for the movie and has many search criteria. It also has a Loan Manager to keep track of your lent movies. ...and my personal recommendation and the one that I use! Movie Label http://www.codeaero.com/movie-label/ Movie Labels features a Microsoft Office style interface, it is easily usable by individuals of any experience level. You can add movies or TV Shows by typing the title or barcode, import them from your hard drive (e.g. AVI, WMV, MOV, MKV etc). You can also browse your movie collections, check out all items that you have loaned, as well as statistics (e.g. per studio, language, genre) and print reports. When you add a new entry, you can input the media title, edition location, date of purchase, region code, as well as movie title, tagline, IMDb rating, trailer, and many more! Furthermore, you can create backups, use a search function, set Movie Label to randomly select a film, update the cover art, enable automatic updates for movie information, and customize columns and the title size, and others. Additionally, you can add new genres, countries, media types, audio formats, languages and certifications to the existing database, export cover arts, create a view, rename video files, re-number all media, and so on. If you use something else, what do you use? Hope this post helped! Regards, Charlie
