3 ad unit and 2 search boxes on 1 page

Hi, I have question about adsense policy, it states
1. Up to three ad units may be displayed on each page.
2. A maximum of two Google AdSense for search boxes may be placed on a page.

Does the search boxes also count as ad units? Let's say I have 1 search box, can I still put 3 ad units on my page?

 

If you mean Google Search ad unit, the answer is yes, the ad unit is still counted...

u can also have 3 link units but too many ads may reduce your total income as more ad units you put up, more lower paying ads get served and visitors might end up clickin gon the lower paying ads than higher paying ones. its wise to use less ad units on prominent locations for maximum earning
