    Did you ever hear of the great depression?

    The US is a lot richer today than during the depression.

    Not for a whole lot longer unless policy is addressed. We're seeing the early phases of the next depression right now.

    • Dollars not backed by hard assets
    • Artificial and rapid inflation of the monetary supply
    • Credit boom
    • Unsustainable stock market highs (driven by speculation)

    • Thread title = "3,773 young US soldiers died in Iraq, when it gonna stop?"

    So far, we have a lack of response to these clear, honest questions, and statements:

    We are illegally invading a foreign country.

    • The people of Iraq want us to leave
    • We are training their 'army' to slaughter other Iraqis.
    • In general, the people who claim "we have to stay", are the same ones who used to say "the war will be easy and cheap."
    • Do you know how long the "hundred years war lasted?" :p

    * When does it end?
    * Didn't we already have a "mission accomplished"??
    * Do you actually trust "Dick and Bush???
    * Why????

    ** Have you ever heard the term "War Pigs?" **
    What does it mean??

    All this war is doing is doing......

    .... Is making the death toll in American lives on 9/11 6300+ instead of 3000.

    Every American life lost in Iraq without a clear reason is another small victory for Al Queda. They got a shot at us on 9/11 and Bush decided to sacrifice even more lives.

    You conservatives love to get worked up about why liberals keep on bringing up WMDs.... The reason is, because we still want to know why Americans are continuing to lose their lives every month. The babbling incoherent leader of this administration has all but decided he doesn't even have to try to explain it anymore.

    There are two sides to it. Iraq was at a certain level of peace even with Saddam Hussein as their leader, although some rights weren't given, at least one had the right to live, (I don't give a sh*t about a 100 or a 1000 political prisoners, I've come to believe that politicians are expendable).

    What caused this fascism as you mentioned, was American (read Christian) extremism (Bush's new born, neo-con bull crap).

    Political Prisoners are not politicians. They are prisoners for their beliefs or opposition to Saddam. Women, Children, Relatives of those people are also imprisoned.

    Ok, I agree with your definition, but I'll the death of around 300,000+ Iraqis is much worse than the death of a couple of hundred "Political Prisoners".

    The 300,000 Saddam killed were "Political Opponents".

    Which would not be an issue if we hadn't helped create the UN ;)

    You mean our President and military used unconstitutional powers? :eek:
    • How can we "spread freedom", without setting a good example at home?

    Precisely.

    I like the misuse of Executive Privilege in the Attorney Scandal. Bush allowed witnesses under subpoena to thwart and derail the investigative and legal process.

    Executive Privilege has been used, at least the ideology behind it, was to protect information that was sensitive to the defense of the nation.

    Instead, Clinton and Bush have used it to protect their office from domestic inquiries, which is a breakdown of democracy at the most basic level.
