Why is it important to have 2nd tier commission? Isn't it better to spend all the commission money on your direct affiliates?

Can you advise on the best strategy to promote affiliate program?

    Best regards, Seopharmacy

    Hello, Seopharmacy

Paying 2-tier commission does not mean that you pay less to your first-tier affiliates, it just means additional expences for you.

As for promoting these are basic steps:

    1. Submit the program to the affiliate directories.
    2. Announce it at affiliate forums. keep your announcement updated.
    3. Direct approach: search for relevant sites and contact webmasters.

The one thing what is better to remember is there is tough time ahead as promoting an affiliate program is an undertaking. It takes time and work.
So mist important 0 be patient and don't expect the floods of the affiliates rushing to you during the first weeks.

    Good luck!

There's a whole slew of affiliates who've found their forte in earning online by solely recommending and recruiting for affiliate programs which have second tiers. Offering a second tier is also a good way for a merchant to get the attention of the websites which feature webmaster traffic.

Also, usually the second tier pays a small rate, 5-10% typically. It doesn't much effect the rate first tier affiliates earn on a sale/lead.

Sounds interesting. Any examples of good programs with 2nd tier commissions?

(Not sure whether posting the urls with aff link violates the forum rules - if you want to suggest with your aff link, PM ok.)

Lots of programs pay 2-tier commissions, and they can make a good revenue. See my signature. Why do you think I even offer my $97 commission on DreamHost? People can have an huge discount, and I don't earn anything, but I'll earn if they bring friends :)
