2nd hard drive on dedicated server?

    I am setting up a server to be media files only.. do i need a 2nd hard drive on the server? or just leave that out?

    I would like to use the second drive as raid-1 at least.

    yes, if you do not need more disk space and you have one hard disk in spare then you should use it for mirroring (RAID 1)

    Not needed, unless you need the space...lol

    If you have the money, setup a raid array to prevent data loss. Assuming the data is that important.

    You could use an offsite backup service, but media files are large, and that would use up precious bandwidth. If you have a decent host, you should be able to get an account in a storage arrary that won't count against your bandwidth.
