What do you mean by building unique content? I understand that our content all has to be unqiue in order to get a good SERP but if you are not using banners I'm not sure what you are meaning then.

Some publishers offer creatives such as lists of new products, iframes and banners. Never use any of these as its a footprint for the search engines to look for.

Simple text links work better than banners.

I'd like to hear your story. I've never been terribly successful at affiliate marketing. I tried a bunch of CJ programs a while back relating to web hosting and none ever seemed to pan out.

    Thanks - Brian

    Thanks guys for your views/advice.
Scottfish, I think we can start making 4-5 pages website in a day or 2, but main thing is to get the traffic.
I have tried PPC in the past with not much success. Can someone suggest how to get good targeted traffic to a newly developed website?

Brian, most of the people who wants to put up a website, go directly to renowned hosting/domain providers like goDaddy etc.
I never really made any money through web hosting affiliate programs.

Who ever buys web hosting through an affiliate link? It seems like the worst possible product to sell.

It depends. A site about insurance doesn't need many pages but a product site needs a page for each product.

I understand what your saying, and I want to know as well!

All the affiliate companies tell stories about how they have some people making over 500K monthly. I would really like to know how they are promoting their products? I have tried for years doing affiliate marketing and havent made much money at all! I wish I knew how...

I dont like people who ask 'how to make money with CJ'.. when they signup, everything is available for the newbies in the CJU online.. but they dont have the patience to read all that, but they have the urge to earn money... Pathetic..

I have been working with CJ for past 1 yr.. was making avg $50 to $100 for 6 months by having a few leads.. oct and nov was good with ~$300 per month. I entered promotion of GoDaddy hosting and my balance crossed $2000 in Dec. but later many got charged back and Dec is in $1100 now...

Promoting with AdWords is passe. Need to find creative ideas for promotion!

The key to making sales is choosing the right target market and right programs. Hosting pays well but it is exceedingly difficult to make a sale there except if you have relevant site with relevant traffic> same applies to many other areas Earning 3-5K should be doable for anyone working full time.

Can you give an example? I read stories at cju about many great affiliates but what these affiliates try to hide their website details (or atleast the marketing aspect of it).

Commission Junction University. It's there "How To" section and learning portal. Very cool if you haven't used affliate marketing before, but like jazz said, its just success stories with out the actual way they marketed thier business.
