2Checkout Sign Up Process - Intrusive?

    Hi guys,

I'm considering signing up with 2Checkout, but I am surprised by there intrusive verification process.

They require a faxed copy of my passport or drivers licence, although I am uncomfortable due to the large number of identity theft I am still considering this.

Firstly, once faxed how long did it take you guys to be up and running? Is a passport on its own enough or do they require more - there support seems to be non existent and there forum layout has changed considerably and only brings up unnecessary threads.

    Your help is appreciated!;)

Well I have contacted their support several times, and got always a prompt response

About the verification, yes its quite uncomfortable...But I think you dont have choice when you have to accept paypal payments from your clients and paypal is not in your country :p

True, however bare in mind that 2CO may not support Paypal for long - Paypal is riddled with scam and fraud and unfortunately my customers are only willing to use Paypal.

I will send a fax with my drivers licence, however I doubt I would comply with anything further. I would rather know now all the information they require.

How long did it take for you to be accepted?

Yes, along with a $50 activation fee. They require a lot of modifications to your site before they would accept it.

Could someone tell me how many IDs they used, just one or more?

There service has been a little slow - haven't received any response yet.

I do payment processing for 30 banks worldwide. I am familiar with 2co as I have many clients who used to process with them. They are a reputable company and the documents they require are standard for high risk and high volume accounts.
Some banks and processors require more than others but you can expect to provide more documentation for higher risk accounts.
