I inquired about my pending commissions and I got this response. However I never read about this on their help section, did I mised it. Is it just me or they do this to everyone.

Yes, it's true. All new publishers must go through this process.

It makes you wonder why they don't mention this on the sign-up page.

I don't think it's too bad.. since they are a sort of matchmaker and are not paying the commissions themselves, they are not an insurance company.

Also, I'm sure it's not them that originally set out with this policy, instead it is probably some scam tactic to screw CJ that became popular that forced them to do it.

I don't know, maybe people buy a bunch of goods through a friend, pocket the commission, then have the friend return the goods or dispute the charges.

Then when CJ and the advertiser come looking to reclaim the commission you earned, they can't find you (you moved, closed your bank account or whatever, or you're a foreign student who moved back to Latin America or whatever with a pocket full of cash).

Anyway, I'm just making this up, not trying to supply you with a business plan or whatever, it just seems to me enough people have probably tried this and cost CJ and their advertisers lots of money that I don't blame CJ for having to be careful.
