Welcome to the ebb and flow of Adsense. If there's one thing you can count on with Adsense, it's that you can't count on consistency. You have no control over the amount you'll receive for clicks (and even if it's low, there are still high ones) other than to weed out those advertisers that are paying one or two cents (ie, the MFAA sites)

That's normal for everyone... January/February are pretty dead months in terms of companies' advertising budget -- they already blew it all on X-Mas holidays.

So basically they've lowered their per-click maximum bid, so you're not making as much as you used to last month (when their budgets were inflated).

Anyway it's a thing that happens every year, just wait for middle/end of February and things will rebound.

That's the nice thing about having a few years of data, you can start to see these patterns over time and thus you're less likely to head out to the ledge every time you see your earnings drop a bit :)

Amen. The first time that it happened to me my January revenues were about 50% of December revenues and I was having a panic attack.

This year it's better though, so far I only saw a 25% drop in eCPM as compared to December 2009.

    Still, can't wait for March:)

That sounds about right for here, too. Last year was a bit different, my decline in January wasn't near as much, but that's because the decline already took place a month or two earlier when the economy itself took the hit.

Funny thing is, though, the earnings aren't affected as much because I'm seeing the typical increase in impressions that I do every time this year...more people still getting computers and/or internet access for Christmas lol

You're right:) Although I don't think it's computers they're getting, but smartphones - iPhones, Nexuses, BlackBerries and the like that provide access to normal www site versions and not the crippled WAP internet like it used to be.... that and the 2/3 year 2G/3G/[whatever G that is popular today] mobile Internet contracts that customers get along with smartphone purchases.

I think google might have trouble indexing pages, or have duplicate contents, I usually find my earning decline when I neglict in trimming down the spams.

Based on page impressions, your ctr is too low. Try experimenting with different color schemes and placements. Use ads channels to keep track which ad has the highest ctr and use it throughout your website. good luck1

Well, it must be Today or yesterday rather tomorrow.

I think this is very low CPC. 0.6 cents are too low.... :(

Do you notice that some days our clicks are paying more than others? Or have they always been low?
