Back in the day, I could write a short and sweet (and interesting article) that would generate a few hundred views and a hundred clicks easy. Those days are long gone. What is it with article marketing nowadays? I guess word got out it was a good strategy for improving SEO and generating targeted traffic, and now every jerk-off is writing crappy articles that make so much noise that my gems very rarely get seen. Nowadays, I am lucky to get 10 clicks for an article that takes me 20-30 minutes to write, no matter how carefully I select the keywords and write the copy. The niche and category don’t even seem to matter. In my opinion, article marketing is basically dead, but I still devote a few hours each week to writing articles and I have evolved my strategy a bit. I have noticed that if I write an A+ article it tends to get posted much more frequently than my solid B+ efforts I usually post, and so I have tried to go with quality approach lately to get more for each article. Of course, after I write an article I make sure to expose it via twitter, digg and a few other social networks to get the maximum value for my efforts. How has your article marketing strategy evolved over the years? What percentage of your efforts due you to devote to it, or have you stopped entirely? This isn't meant to be one of those stupid and worthless article marketing posts that frequently appear on this message board, never receiving more than a few posts. This is meant to be a serious discussion about how people see the current state of article marketing and how you have evolved your strategy to achieve the maximum return for your efforts?
