$250 Homepage/Subpage Design Contest -Winner is contracted for up to $1,000 more work

Hey All!!
As always, I’ve had great luck running contests here at digital point and will continue to do so. I never see so much creativity anywhere else - keep up the good work guys!

With that said, I am going to be running a $250 contest for a homepage / subpage design for our parent company. The winner of the design contest will be contracted to do other work – such as graphic / logo / landing page design – etc, with work up to our $1,000 budget. So please be prepared to put effort into this contest as it will lead to immediate work in the future from us.

CONTEST Details :
THIS contest will run for 1 week due to holidays being so close.
The company name is Interactive Marketing Corporation; IMC for short.
We do a multitude of things including:
Computer Repair, Network Management, IT Solutions, Remote/Offsite Backup, Managed Service Providers (MSP), Data Recovery, Website Design/Development, and Web Hosting.
We have been in business 15 years and are a reputable, established company.
We are looking for a professional/clean site that can incorporate all of those items.

We are not saying we want an exact replica of that – but we do appreciate/like that site and its structure.
We want to see what you guys can come up with as far as creativity for a site like this.

I will provide links to our current logo – and if you need to alter/render the logo to fit in a layout you think may work – please do so.
Remember we are open to all suggestions/creativity.
We would like to keep the colors a mixture of blues/reds – but are open to other colors!

Remember…the winning designer is going to be selected and contracted for other work up to $1,000 worth of work. It would be ideal to have some sort of messaging client like MSN/AIM/ICQ.

Thanks for posting this, if that contest was never closed I will probably avoid this entry. Although I've got a pretty good looking design drafted for this already. Contest holder, do you have anything to say regarding your previous abandoned contest?

 

Hey Guys!!

Do not know why that contest was never closed out - But I did complete that contest and their was winners chosen.

Check my iTrader, I have been a long standing member of this community without any bad/false violations.

I also have about 5-6 DP members I contract work to on a regular basis - so if you need any references I would be more than happy to provide.

I know this is a larger project and sometimes people are weary.

Trust I am serious about the contest. My status/reputation on this forum means a lot and would not put that in jeopardy.


As for the coding - I would like the site to be coded - although if you cannot do it, and I like the design, I will contract another person to code it.

Can you post the logo without this shading effects? Or even the font of "IMC"?
Would you accept a Re-Design of the Logo too? (I mean completely with a recognition value)

Fenzo - The variations of the logo provided were all I have - I will see what else I can find on a few servers for you.

We are not really looking into a complete "re-design" of the logo - as this is our brand and we are established with this for 15 years. Although if you feel the need to "re-vamp" it or bring it back to life - more power to you.

Prize is $250 regardless of whether it comes with coding or not. The winner will be receiving $250 in addition to that more work to follow immediately.

Here is my first design sketch: The thought behind this one was: simplicity, clean cut professional look. Easy to navigate and find necessary information, clutter-free. Blue color to add to professional tone (however can be substituted for red)

Things to keep in mind:

• Colors are interchangeable, I can make the entire thing red toned.
• Logo is just for looks, I felt like your logo would not fit the design. To be honest, I think it needs to be revamped entirely (don't mean to offend the designer) but it needs a makeover. In fact, the logo I placed there is nothing but a placeholder, if necessary I can design a similar version to your logo, or make a brand new one if my design is chosen.
• Live support button is entirely optional (I wasn't sure if you would have that sort of thing)
• The sideshow area would be similar to the website you gave as an example, with images and text. (I had a nice placeholder for it somewhere but I can't find that image now.
• The badges / accreditations on the bottom are just examples (you might have some of your own that apply.

Heres my attempt, taking the red/blue color theme and making it a bit more modern.

Image is slightly re-sized)

I dont usually enter whole page designs on DP because its takes so long compared to a logo, but i thought i would give this one a go.
All five photos are from stock.xchg under standard licence, so should not require any further purchase.
Everything else is original, wireframed in fireworks and finished in photoshop.
