$250 Homepage Design Contest - 3 Guaranteed Winners Picked - Ends in 7 days

Project Overview:

I’m looking for 3 designers to create a WordPress screenshot each with a bridal or female-related theme. These screenshots can be modern or romantic, but I would like them to have a soft, elegant feel to them and incorporate design elements that are seen in invitations, programs, reception, etc. Examples of these elements include Damask lace, swirls, polka dots, flowers (some popular ones are calla lilies, peonies, orchids, roses, tulips, etc.), and more. So the theme doesn’t have to include a picture of a bride, wedding rings, or other obvious wedding elements but seem more like an extension of invitations, programs, etc. You can choose the color scheme or use the following popular wedding colors: aqua/pool, brown and a pastel color (i.e. Tiffany blue, baby pink, or lime green), greens and pinks, light golds/yellows (popular color in blogs), red with black and white, and bright colors such as orange and hot pink.

Design Requirements:
- Total size is 1400 x 1100 px (background image)
- Main website body size is 1000 x 1000
- Two columns, one for content and the other to fit a skyscraper ad and act as a sidebar

Examples of websites that I like:

• http://www.thebridescafe.com/ - I like the swirls in the background image, the simple and elegant feel, the two column layout, and color palette. I also like how the photos are framed.
• http://stephaniefayblog.com/ - I like the intricate background design, especially how the bird overlaps into the main website body, and I like how you can add a photo above the headings. Also, I like how the heading bar has a marble design.
• http://weddingchicks.com/ - I like how this site looks like an invitation with the decorative lace elements incorporated throughout the page, and I like the decorative buttons in the side bar.
• http://bklynbrideonline.com/ - For a contemporary look, I like how the overall design, particularly the header, still has an elegant look. I also like the use of colors.
• http://www.stylemepretty.com/ - I like the header, especially the framing and the fonts, and I like the color scheme.
• http://efweweddings.wordpress.com/2009/07/16/romance-in-the-moonlight-garden-joanna-roger/ - A lot of wedding blogs have this theme…It’s a little too simple for me, but I think many people like it because of the soft colors and simplicity.

Do you allready have a logo, or any specifications for logo size?

I know its not great, but its my first time designing something...

jnjnnino, i'm open to dark colors as long as it looks like a wedding-friendly blog design, as i mentioned earlier, like it's an extension of a wedding invitation. i just gave some pointers on the popular colors that brides are picking, and some of them are bright, vibrant colors. i also know that some brides are choosing more subdued colors.
