Hello Designers, Info about the website: 1. Site is coded or online yet; 2. This is a pet website for dog lovers; (admit it – you like dogs!) 3. The site name is YourDogsOnline.com; 4. This is not the ordinary 1 page site. I need a full site of 6 pages; (don’t panic – keep reading) 5. I would like you to post the front (index) page design here and I will give regular feedback. There’s obviously no sense designing the back pages if I don’t like the front. Neither of us wants to waste each others time - right. The design: 1. I already have a basic block layout of how I would like the site setup which I will supply to all who are interested (pdf file). I'm looking for someone to take that concept and create a design that really pleases the eye. For content and ideas I’d reference sites like: http://www.dogster.com http://www.dogluvers.com http://www.nextdaypets.com/directory/breeds/ http://www.wellbredpets.com The main (index) template will consist of a left hand menu and top banner. The left hand menu will contain approximately 10-15 text items (java script opens to 25-30 sub-items). The top banner will contain the header (described below), sub-menu, links, user login, and search box. The main content area will contain a horizontal scrolling photo script, dog of the week, dog of the day, articles, news & RSS feeds and survey box. There will also be text links below each paragraph where users can read more. The page will also have three ads on it. The header and footer info will stay the same on every page, only the content in the “center†of the page will change. The succeeding pages will be for breed selection, breed text, video, wallpapers and classifieds. 2. www.dogwebz.com has the exact type of header that I want to use. Also want to use the flash effect (glitter follows the cursor around in the header). Can use any combination of dogs or background colors as I don’t think the black would work, but you tell me – I just want it to look professional. A logo to go with the site name is desired but not a requirement. 3. Color preference: Just needs to be easy on the eyes. I like the black and gold in the sample header site, but don’t think that would look good if used on the entire site. 4. I’d like to incorporate reflections and mirrored effects - web 2.0 like 5. Don’t want the site to have a “cartoon-ish†look. I DON'T want clones of the websites I listed above in item #1 above with my site name on them. Each of those sites has different elements of the functionality that I’m looking to incorporate, but not the look. I want the site to have it's own look, which the user will remember because of your outstanding design and navigation efforts. 6. Time frame: I'll give it 7 days. I will end this contest earlier if I see something that really blows me away and of course I must like something to declare a winner. In the interest of fairness any questions or queries should be directed in the thread, and not via PM, so that everyone can see the responses and make changes accordingly. (you can however PM me to request my pdf layout file) I reserve the right to end or extend the contest at any time if I am not satisfied with the current entrants 7. Coding. NOT required but I will compensate if you think you want to try and tackle it. PM me for more info if interested. 8. Payment: PAYPAL $250 as stated in the title plus a bonus of $50 if the design is something that's unique and hasn't been seen before. I know I probably haven’t covered everything so if you have any questions please ask. I’ve seen some awesome designs generated here so let’s see what you can do with this!
