i bet shawn can put in that page,
"if you have read the terms pm me for a $50 payment"
and i bet only 1 in 500 will claim the $50
intact i think Cnet did that and 220,000 times that it was accepted, before someone read it all and claimed to $1,000 they offered in the EULA

The threads getting too long here. I'm not an authority here but can i request that replies be kept on a positive note?

this is a good forum, lots of resource. positive replies can only benefit along the lines of future improvement.

I bet , that nobody would even claim the payment.....

    Not many people read that...

Its like when I see the " How does rep work threads " in the suggestion forum

When there is a GIANT sticky about rep, and people don't even look.......

    Oh please NOOOOOOOOO!

Don't even go there... .PLEASE!

There's stuff I don't particularly like about dp but it's not enough to get me to leave... nothings perfect right? But sitepoint drives me crazy with all their charging for everything under the sun... I'm surprised you don't have to pay to enter design contests or pay to reply to marketplace posts over there... sheesh!

Rules are implemented for a reason.
No one wants to buy from a complete newbie anyway.

id pay to post in areas where i need a service or product, especially if i need something done by professionals in the field. I dont mind paying more than the avg joe but I wouldnt see a problem even charging with points accumilated through posts throughout DP or even buying points if I dont have time to get involved in the rest of the site. Using paypal or even a credit card would help fight against anonymous spammers who sign up simply with an email.

Not every thread has a dollar value, but in my opinion some do. Other than that even verifying a member can be automated through a payment/refund system. For some people making 25 posts isnt such a big request, but for others like myself I'd rather just buy my way past that. I suppose i could have just let my article writer login and make some decent posts for me, but thats kind of seedy (just a thought). Either way, Outside of making a little post like this I'd never have gotten my 25 posts respectfully within a year. Others suggested I pm people who have already posted but that can be very time consuming and possibly result in little luck. sundaybrew effectively said it best with me wanting to make my own thread. Could have hit the target much better.

I think (s)he was just suggesting that you could tell us where you live so that you'd have something else to post.

I don't think I would have put the whole address and phone number on a public board!

It's cold here today, was planning to setup shop outside for some home reno's but screw that. It snowed a little yesterday.

Nice to see so many neighbours... who's gonna get a local convention going ? Alot of domainers/developers around here.

I'm leaving now for the day and no time to read this post in full, but there would be a solution for posting immediately after joining DP.

Pay for a membership, rather than wait but for sure that is not the spirit of this forum so it's always much better abide with rules.
