I'm a programmer but I can't do logos. After being burned by "the-best-logos.com" or whatever I've come to digitalpoint looking for good designers. I saw some previous contests and there was a good variety of work to choose from. I like the approach where you get to choose between a few different logos. I decided to start my own contest. I need a top logo for a web 2.0 online polls site: http://worldop.com I'm thinking I want something "peopley", highlighting the "community" effect, or something related to polls such as a fancy checkbox. Designers know best so feel free to do your own thing, but it must be on a white background. Contest will end when I have chosen the winner. No hard feelings to those not chosen - some days it's just hit and miss! Let the games begin!

Thanks for your interest DarkX and entry Proficient! Proficient: I like it although I would prefer it smaller and more 'boxed'. The "L" shape is a bit hard to work with. The bar graph is cool but to make the shape more fluid maybe it should be moved left or right (preferably right) and/or even be made horizontal.
DarkX I like it but as mentioned maybe make it more compact - shrink that balloon down a bit. Maybe add a graph of sorts on the side. We could play on "WorldOpinion" with "WorldOp" being a different color than "inion". That might look better... Tough domain name... A globe is another idea. I like what I see so far and could see using one of them on the site!
Coolwanz, those are some pro skills. I especially love the fact that you've included a few variations. My only criticism is the squares inside the globe make it look a little too busy. The font I would prefer to be more 'square' and 'sharp' as my site is fairly square, and maybe enlarged to be more impressive against the size of the globe. Still, awesome work and one of my favorites so far.

A ton of excellent submissions! If anyone else has more to add feel free but I will be choosing a winner within 24h. Lets say no more submissions 8 hrs from now. I must say this has been a wonderful experience. Contests appear to be an exciting and effective way to get a great logo quickly and inexpensively. I just wish I could pay everyone for their effort!
