$25 Logo Contest - 48 Hours Duration - Guaranteed Winner Will Be Chosen

I am running a $25 logo contest for 48 hours.
The contest is over on Thursday March 22, 2012 at 5:00pmm PDT

Here are the requirements for the logo:


1) The logo is for a gym where people can come and play bad%min%ton for a fee.


2. The facility is called "North%ern Cali%fornia Ba%dmin%ton Cl%ub"
(Please ignore the % in the name. It's inserted to prevent search engine spiders;
just take out the % and you will see the company name).


3) To prevent search engine spiders, when posting images in this thread, don't use the company name as the file name.
Also, don’t mention the company name in text of your reply.


4) Make sure images used are not copyright. Original designs only!


5) Provide the font you used, if licensing permits, so that I can make edits if needed in the future.


6) Colors are blue, green and red. Blue is the main color.


7) Logo will be used in web header, business cards, embroided on uniforms, and company stationary


8) Logo must be easy to read when printed in smaller size


9) Looking for clever ideas. I want something dynamic and active (i.e, a figure of a player winding up to hit the shuttlecock)


10) Payment will be made through PayPal $25 USD


11) Winner will receive excellent feedback


12) This is a 48 hour contest but may be extended if necessary to find the right design


13) Winner will be paid promptly, and will work with me directly for future design work.

@Misa_Misa - Thank you for your submission! I need the logo to include all 3 colors (blue, green and red). Blue would be the main color though. Also, I want logo to show action, movement. That's why I suggested having a figure of a person jumping in a smashing position as a possibility. Please redesign and submit again. Thanks!

@Meghraj - Thank you for your submission! Here is my feedback.... The logo with the blue outline of a man is ok. I like the concept of the "outline of a man" hitting a shuttlecock. I want the name to be separate from the logo image so that I can just use the logo image without the name if I wanted to. Try to incorporate all 3 colors on the logo image. I do not like the logo with the green court at all. It doesn't show action or movement like I described in my requirements. Please try again.

@sergioene - here is my feedback....
- The image of the player doesn't show "power" and "speed"
- The colors need to be solid. He looks like a rainbow.
- Image needs to be smooth. It has too many jagged edges.

- Image needs to have all 3 colors I specified (words/text should be one color)
- Font for logo is too plain. Needs better font.

Can you give an example of what badminton position do you think it evokes power and speed? For example, does the "badminton smash" fit the concept of power and speed?

 

@sergioene - I'm not sure what evokes power and speed, that's why I'm asking your creative mind as a designer to do that
A 'badminton smash" would definitely fit the concept of power and speed. You can also use waves, circles and abstract elements to show motion.
The image you used doesn't show power and speed. I've seen better images of a guy doing a badminton smash.

 

Definitively. But in my country badminton is not popular so I haven't had the oportunity to play with it. I watch videos to guide myself but It's not the same.

 

@MouseCat - Here's my feedback....
- I like how the swirl is coming off the racquet. It gives it an action/movement feel.
- I don't like the stance of the guy. He should be in s jumping stance to show action/movement/power/speed.
- I don't like the font you used
- The font should be one color
- There should only be 3 colors (you have shades of the 3 colors in there)
