I am hosting a contest for a business card design. The person who owns the logo wants something "funky" As you can tell by the logo, something colourful, creative and attention grabbing. Feel free to go crazy on this one. The card should be 52 x 90 mm with a 3 mm bleed for a final cut size of 49 x 87. The resolution of the document should be 300 dpi. Photoshop or illustrator or eps formats would be ideal for the document, whatever you feel works best for you. The contest will be open for 3 days, but may be extended if required. You can find the source logo here: http://www.worldfinancialgrp.ca/logo.ai.zip The winner will be paid by paypal.
Hi, its approaching 2 days now without an entry. Can those who are interested in this contest please write a quick note to let me know there is some interest in this contest?
MissLeDree - Very attractive design colourwise, but she had a few concerns and I think I should mention them for yourself and anyone else who puts an entry in. The business that the company does is event production and staffing, logistics etc. The card ideally would have some sort of tie in to that industry. Secondly, the card would need to have a layout that would fit contact information, such as mailing address, phone number, fax number, email, website and the persons name and position. Moneylizard - she says "she is crazy but not that crazy" and detailed a few things she didn't like about the design and a couple suggestions for you. First of all, she didn't like the zigzag line along the middle fo the card. secondly, she didn't like the colours of her logo being used again as a gradient for the phone numbers. Third, she likes some of these kinds of abstract vector designs incorporated into designs, such as the benja card contest's winning design: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1100335 She didn't like the checkered pattern on the orange background, so in summary: Straight line in middle of design, no colour gradient for phone numbers, the slight gradient you used from red to orange on the top half is good, and if you could also incorporate some vector swirls etc into the design she would like that. Additionally, she mentioned she is not crazy about the font you used, she has a particular liking for "bookman" font or something like that...if you could find a different font similar to that then that would be something she would like.
This contest is going to be extended, due to having only 2 entries and to give those who have entered to make revisions.
hey i am i'm interested.. I am preparing a real funky business card for you. Hold on for me pls, thanks, enquiryvcs
My attempt... you did say crazy right? wasnt sure what that ment, but this will get your attention... Plenty of room for bleed and cut off. Didnt provide the final version.
enquiryvcs-nice design...she would like some other colour options for the vectors behind the logo and the pattern. I quite liked the design myself. Itaydr-she likes your design also. She hasn't much more to suggest on your design, she says its just a matter of what design she likes the most. joidiamonds - she thinks you have made a nice design, but she is not crazy about the pattern in the background.
I was made aware of an error in my artwork specifications this morning also. It is actually a 1.5 mm bleed, with a final cut size of 87 x 49. Sorry about that...I will ask the winning design to incorporate that change into the design.
The contest holder has decided on the design of enquiryvcs as the winning design, pending some requested changes. Thank you to everyone who posted an entry. If there is request for it, I will post the final proof since the winning design was submitted via private message.
Ahhh i was doing mine, but thats cool. Off to another contest. Congrats on the winning design, wish you had posted it, would have like to have seen. Grats!
Sorry joidiamonds...the tough part of these contests is having to pick a winner out of a number of excellent designs...I feel a little bad about it. I have posted a link to what the winning design looks like, but I have requested a few changes to the linked proof. But there it is for you to see basically. http://www.flickr.com/photos/dreamviewstudios/3032276039/sizes/o/
