$25 - 3 days - Take old 1997 logo and make it look 2010 ...

    Hello - following is a logo that I need to maintain the general concept of, but it needs a visual upgrade so that it does not look like it was made in Microsoft Word in 1997 :D - winner will receive $25 via Paypal - I will provide feedback on designs on 2 occasions between now and Wednesday ... you can be creative with the design, but it needs to have the basic elements of what is in the graphic below and not be a completely entirely different concept from what is shown below.

    Thanks for the entries so far - you can add colors if you want, but we want the logo to be overall "light and fresh" as opposed to "dark and heavy" ... was hoping for some gradients and styling on the icon and text ... will provide feedback later today - thanks!

    Thanks for the entries everyone ... the entries so far all look very much like the original artwork which is what I am trying to get away from .. I want a design with an icon similar to what is shown in the graphics and bars on the side and the text as shown along the bottom, but something that looks a little more up to date ... this icon does not have to look like the image, it just has to be a figure - you can even use an istock image in your logo if you want (however icon should not suggest any particular race). It just has to be structured like the original image. It can even have additional elements like outlines or other shapes added in if it looks good - will consider anything that is obviously inspired by the original artwork posted.

    I see the minor variations in the entries above, but I think I am looking for more than minor variations ... thanks everyone!
