My website gets 25,000 unique hits a month without any marketing. My partner wants to advertise but do you think I need to?
It depends on your goals for the site. What type of site are you talking about? If you can market your site, and make back what you pay in advertising costs, I don't know why wouldn't would. But depending on the type of site you've got, your money could be better spent elsewhere. Do a fairly high percentage of your visitors sign up at your site or purchase a product?
What exactly is the site about, are you satisfied with the goal of creating the site in the first instance?. If your idea is to monetize the site, I think 25,000 hits a month is okay. It is better to leave the site with that amount of hits and then concentrate on something else.
I would suggest spending part of the earnings on marketing. If can work on introducing the site to new people. But setting a budget is a idea idea.
Just my thoughts. By the way the site on OCD is very informative thank you for sharing it with us all. If you are putting advertisments, how about real ads as oppposed to PPC types. How about major donors to your foundation being offered an ad space kind of like and honor badge for them? This way to in and indirect way collect higher revenue from these people then you might normally receive.
If you want to stay at 25k forever then be lazy and nothing good will come from it, if you want 100k or 500k visitors a month get off your lazy butt.
Depends on what you want to do. But if you have some extra time on your hands then there's no reason not to spend a little time doing some basic marketing.
advertise is necessary for every business and every business must employ some part of earnings in advertising.. If you want to grow your business its highly necessary else be cool and stay where you are.. BTW nice informative site..
how do you get 25,000 hits per month for your website without any promotion? can you tell your website or in which domain, your website is providing services.. what is your main source and what is your online strategy.. Would you share it with us???
I think you should do ads on your site as your partner said because we have to always try to gain our hits
