    Hi guys,

I run a "technical forum" that is now getting 24000 visitors a day with 33000 page loads. The Googleads do not make much :(

Is there a way that I can get money for just having someones banner ad on the site? Is there an Ad agency or something where I can submit my site for hosting advertising?

What is the normal going rate per 1000 pageloads say?

By the way, for years I have been reading and implementing what I have read here and It has worked :D for which I am grateful :D

    Thanks very much,

    Hazeldear

It would be great to get CPM ads but I don't know of any ad networks that allow CPM ads on forums due to the fact that CTRs are known to be very low. However, it might be worth checking out the sites of Tribal Fusion, Doubleclick, Fast Click, Casale, Burst Media, etc.

Another option is to try WidgetBucks or Chitika and just hope the ads are more appealing than the Adsense you tried.

Almost forgot - The best ads for forums are private ad sales where someone buys a banner for a flat monthly rate. You could list your ad inventory on a site like www.forsalebypublisher.com or just contact companies in your industry that you think might be interested.

I'd go with the CPM ads as MTbiker said, maybe you should try affiliate marketing, like showing Amazon ads of computers on the forum or something like that.

I think most of us have made this mistake in the past but why concentrate on affiliate ads, Adsense etc.

Why not contact a company direct and enquire if they would like to promote their brand on your forum.

If you proof of the traffic then most companies would pay good money.

    Hi everyone,

thanks very much for your kind replies.

I have signed up to a few places you mentioned and I will see which one fits best, if not more than one.

I will also get a list of companies that I will contact. How much would one ask for per 1000 impressions?

    Thanks again,

    regards
