If he's earning that sort of money you would have though he'd get a web designer to re-design the site.

I gotta be honest i'm tempted to buy the doubler seater chair, The guys here would love it!

I totally agree with you! If you find something that earns you good money, just shut the hell up! You will only end up with 1000 copycats.

The problem with some people is that they just love to brag about how succesful their sites are and how much money they are earning with them... they never realize that all that braggging is just hurting them. Most of the big fish here keep very quiet about their sites. No sigs, no personal discussions, and anytime there is a question that needs to be asked they use a generic example like "mydomain.com".

pr and visibility do not equal dollars. it is number of visitors and conversion rate.
i see sites all the time with pr7 and no activity. on the other hand, i've seen pr7 blogs which post one sentence and get a few hundred comments within the hour. he sells $300 bean bags which cost maybe $100 to make. if he converts 1 out of 10 visitors, he only needs 20-25 uniques a day to make around that.

there is no dropshipping site on the planet that makes 2x cost on an item. I guarantee it. Competition is too stiff, since everyone and their mother can make a site with the same products.

or 1x...the numbers still work. then just 40-50 uniques. My point was that pr is misleading and conversion rate key. This is why some pr7 sites can command good banner rates from real companies and some are trying to sell links for $50 a month to other bloggers

Well I don't think it is that easy. 10% conversion is really high, especially with chairs at that high price. But I do think it is true. If you use DP's keyword suggestion tool, you will see that it gets about 50 searches per day. You can multiply that by about 4 to see what google does.

So you can say that in all, 300 or so people search for these poof chairs per day. He probably gets most of those visitors, since he has both natural and paid top position. If he gets 250 uniques a day and gets 2% conversion, that's 5 chairs sold per day. If he makes $100 dollars per chair, that's $182,500 per year. Not exactly his figures, but close.

The only problem is that people are going to find his supplier, make a better site, do more SEO, and pay more PPC. Someone will take $20 per chair over not making anything at all. Online competition is stiff, and telling the world where there's gold isn't a smart move for a miner.

Last year I met a ringtone owner with sales at $2K per day and 'stuck'. I got involved in 'creative ppc' and within 4 weeks his revenue was over $10K per day and climbing. After 3 months, he decided to stop paying our 50/50 increase in profit contract - and I am waiting for a court date!

Moral - it can be done - just don't tell them how :p

That was a horribly written article, definitely sounded too much a straight forward PR piece.

I am always skeptical when someone tells me how much they make. It is sort of like that old joke about 75 year old man who went to the doctor.

Old man - I want to satisfy my 35 year old wife 3 times a day
Doctor - at your age if you can do it 3 times a week it will be good.
Old man - but my 85 year old neighbors says he does his wife 3 times a day
Doctor - you too can say the same..

Wow - lots of haters around. If he's making what the article claims, good for him. I think the original reason for the post was to inspire the rest of us. I don't think everyone was inspired, but it does get you thinking.

BTW - those chairs are Awesome! My neighbor has 2, and they are great.
