I don't think so. Google is about searching and searching is about links. You cannot divide neither delete one or the other. regards
The people in this poll are COMPLETELY out of their minds. While it doesn't surprise me that of the the majority of the readers of an SEO forum think that SEO is most important, I find this 86% number (as of this writing) to be COMPLETELY ridiculous. SEO is an important part of obtaining traffic for a site, but the fact that it takes SOOOO long for it to kick in makes it EXTREMELY difficult for me to call it the best. With SEO you either need something revolutionary or you need to spend serious $$$ on your text link budget. Of course, if your site is revolutionary, you still need to get the word out to begin with. I think that SEO is important, but I also think that relying on it entirely is either suicide or insanity. Brandon
Hello, I must defend SEO! I know that SEO is valued and does create traffic. A good managed SEO results to increased PR and SERP's for any search engine. I still have to agree with you up to some point! I also haven't voted because of it. I support the practice that SEO only or Back links only or Press releases only will not do the job! We have to apply more techniques to get overall good rankings. Depending of the topic (the content) some techniques will give better results, but that's up to the webmaster to find out which ones will give the best results for a specific site. Regards
I suppose there needs to be some clarification around the definition of the word "exposed" but I will pit a good email list against SEO anyday. We are talking instant eyeballs. With a good sized budget PPC search (missing from the list) is also better. Not that SEO is bad but definitely not the exaggerated leader.
its nice to see that people are actually in support of SEO more than anything else for the publicity of their website
Good information...! Doesn't matter even if it has been posted at some other forum. I must say you have worked on the subject to prepare this thread...
Good job done... I think you covered most of the points... Rest I think this thread would also be helpful... http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=269022
