Not really ALL that bad for search engines, but it is bad for remembering and typing it in for return visitors.

There is no guarantee that a targeted name will rank 1st in Google or other engines. It's just a good help to start

With this domain train you mentioned you totally decrease the value of the domain (of course) but also the site

Can you imagine your self when was the last time that you typed a similar name at your browser ?

Some think that buying a domainfull of keywords saves us from doing all the SEO work about the website to push it up on search engines. Wrong I'd say. While being too concerned about SEO we may forget about another aspect. The image of your business. How would you type the name of your site on a visit card? IMO, endless website namess are just a placeholder for businesses that hunt for quick money online. But they either do down or change their name after a while...

Please don't get me wrong, hitboy. I don't really want to influence your plans, I was only expressing a personal opinion around keyword-based domain names. Registering a long domain name, filling it with content, throwing on some google adsense and then start earning from advertising, that is how I see this working.

If you are planning a serious business, I'd be looking for a shorter domain name and then concentrate on site's design and optimization. Functionality is important, too.

Domain name may contain one of the strongest keywords that represent the scope of the project, and I would never buy domains like cheap-reservations-online.com unless I'd be aiming to resell them later on.

if the name make sense and easy to remember and suite for the purpose it is Ok.

But in general it is too long.

    I have one

AdSenseAlternatives.com (I consider it to be long)
may be one of the longest names I have.

    Thanks
