This study is ongoing. You keep posting, and I'll keep geting the stats for a week or two, twice a week.

Give yourself a BIG round of an applause. DigitalPoint has the smallest numbers, but as you can see, it's growing FAST!!! It won't be long before Digital Point is #1 in stats. In my book it's all ready #1, and if you don't think it is, you need a big fat [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG].

Interesting. I've noticed that the board really goes wild when I'm not online - which is usually in the middle of the night. I can't keep up with the day shift's posts :)

WMW is a ginormous PITA IMO (wow, 3 acronyms in one sentence). Gotta Log-in to try and see threads and then you can't see some of those unless you pay. Can't post about google without waiting for your post to be reviewed, etc.

I think this board has the best combo of Good SEO Discussion + Good Technical Discussion + Free Tools + Responsible Moderation + fun off topic stuff

    Plus it's fast.

well I feel that DP is much more an addition to my forum lists then sitepoint or webmasterworld. I am on all three boards, but sitepoint only the marketplace is of my interested, and dp I am looking at everything so...

I've never even heard of ABestWeb...

You should also compute avg posts/member... and, although this would be difficult, I wonder about the ratio of serious (webmaster) posts to "chat" posts. I suspect this forum is on the high side for the latter...

Here's the numbers. Digitalpoint wins on two out of three of them!!

Average number of posts per member who has posted atleast once.

Digital Point: 3,799 active members = 66 posts per active member
SitePoint: 43,693 active members = 46 posts per active member
ABestWeb doesn't have the members list.

Average number of posts per member counting the members that registered and never posted.

    Digitalpoint: 31
    SitePoint: 25
    ABestWeb: 20

Percent of members who register and postes atleast once. (This doesn't count members who have only posted on a board that doesn't have post count, ie Off-Topic at that other place.)

    SitePoint: 54%
    Digitalpoint: 47%

Members prunning (Deleting 0 posts members) can mess these numbers up, making it look like more members post that actually did.

LOL!!! The only way to do that is get the mySQL database of each vBulletin site and prune all 'Off-Topic' boards and update the counters, including the member post count!!!!! And no one in there right mind would give me there database!!! Shawn, want to give me the DP database!!! *Shawn: I don't think so!!!* But the passwords are encrypted!!! :D:D:D:D

Or to make it easier, when you collect your stats, make a note of the number of posts in the General Chat forum.

LOL!! Now WHY didn't I think of that!!! *Some one says: I can take a wild guess.* :D:D:D:D

    Total Posts (14 hours ago)/Off-Topic Posts (Now)= ##% Off-Topic
    ABestWeb: 416,249/133,044 = 31%
    DigitalPoint: 252,206/67,944 = 26%
    SitePoint: 2,028,358/304,894 = 15%
WebmasterWorld 1,655,352/127,740 = 7% (I always noticed the Off-Topic area was sort of dead!)
