From my experience...

Adsense Ads works the best when you have a lot of white ( it can be other color) space around the ads. You have nice design but it's not designed for pay per click ads. To many borders around everything... I'm pretty sure that's the problem

Your CTR is horribly low, but with 22 cents CPC, its looking good.
You better concentrate on blending ads and try different ad positions.

Change the add appearences day by day.Then you woul know the best colour schemes of adds for your site.
