    Deepdish is the crawler which fetches your recent entry from rss feed in your blog.
    I think its same for all the users who have recent blog option, seems it works hourly..

    I have noticed it in my blog stats too

    I think there is a plugin. but not sure whether it is as perfect as DP one.
