$213 my first month good with BANS?

Well, looks like I've racked up $213 in my first month of using BANS. How are you doing with it?

One thing that amazes me the most is how people will come into my store looking for one thing and walk out with something completely different. I love it...especially when it is an expensive item. :D

Good start! I see having multiple optimized BANS sites as each opening a gateway to eBay and all it has to offer. eBay converts very well. I doesn't matter that your buyer went in through your screwy widget site and ended up buying a solid gold widget completely off the path they took to get there.

The more open doors, the better! Get those credit card wielding, obsessive shoppers through any one of those doors and hand them a cookie.

    Congratulations, that's a good month.

As far as what people buy, that is the beauty of the 7-day cookie. They may have been looking for your widgets on day 1 and bid on on a thing-a-ma-bob on day 3.

not to hijack the thread - but how can i see/track what users are actually purchasing on ebay?
    thru cj's web interface or?

I've looked at the reports but don't see anything that tells me users- purchases.
i'm sure its something stupid - thanks

nice start sixfigure - keep it up .

There's also a similar tool that costs about ten bucks that I've seen, but I can't recall where. It sits on your desktop so that you don't have to give up any sensitive niche, traffic and conversion info to a third party. If I come across it, I'll provide the link.

People...please don't use those 3rd party sites... you know they are probably snooping around at your hot items...

    http://affiliates.ebay.com/ns/BestPracticesReporting.htm explains this....

basically what you want to do is:
    1)login to cj.com
2)click on the tab "run reports"
    3)click on "report options"
4)in the first dropdown menu choose "commision detail"
5)choose your timeframe in the right hand collumn
    6)click "generate report"
7)scroll all the way down the the bottom of the page
8)in the bottom right hand corner you will see "Download report in" with a dropdown menu to select format
9)select a format, i choose "excel", but if you don't have excel (or open office), you might want to choose CSV or TAB
    10)click "submit"
    11)open your downloaded file
    12) you will see something that contains lines resembling this: (edited for privacy)

    "26-Feb-2008 13:33 PST","25-Feb-2008 13:08 PST","Winning Bid","53469988","sim_sale","new","0","100.60","50.30","3245323","blahblah shop","93827489","583829","eBay","","38291039;220205817634;34554;20080218;20080219;1;15654.55;000US;24634674788","","53665","564565"

    13)go to ebay.com
14)paste that bright red number into the search box
    15)hit enter
16)realize that in the time it took you to do all that you could have written a PHP script to do it all for you.
