Vbulletin 3.5 beta how?

Discussion in 'Co-op Advertising Network' started by Digitalize, Jul 7, 2005.

Hi, I would just like to say how great these forums are. Ive been lurking around here for a while now but have finally decided to post. :p

I cant install coop advertising on vbulletin beta 3, there is no phpinclude_start in the Styles/Templates section of the Admin section. How can I get around this?

    Thanks :)

Once vBulletin 3.5 is "final", I'm going to change the instructions for a vBulletin setup, but it's super easy...

The phpinclude_start template was no longer needed with the plug-in system, so anything that the instructions say would go into phpinclude_start, you can make a plug-in with a hook location of global_start with that code.

You sure you selected 5 BEFORE you copy/pasted the code? It actually changes the PHP code when you select it.

It's detailed in this thread, follow the normal instructions along with what "Digitalpoint" said earlier.

I'm trying to install the co-op on vbulletin 3.5, but can't quite figure out what this statement means - for a total noobie, what does "make a plug-in with a hook location of..." mean?

vBulletin is final now, and you can find instructions for it on the normal setup page.

At step 5 of the instructions for vbulletin 3.x, it talks about editing the phpinclude_start template. My understanding is that this template doesn't exist in vbulletin 3.5, or at least I can't find it. So maybe I'm missing something??

Select vBulletin 3.5.x from on the setup instructions screen.

I am, under step 3 at least.
I think I'm doing that right, as step 4 says "Download the vBulletin 3.5..."
But step 5 doesn't seem to change regardless of whether v3.0 or v3.5 is selected, and it references the phpinclude_start template.
Sorry that I'm having so much trouble!!

Internet explorer on Windows. I've just deleted all cookies, cleared history, etc and still get the same thing. Is my computer just not displaying the correct instructions?

Thanks Shawn. The instructions are clear now :)

I've followed the instructions & can't see any ads on the forum which I just added to my site. The ads work on the rest of the site. Any thoughts as to what may be the problem?

Are you logging PHP errors by chance? vBulletin suppresses non fatal errors, so one thing I can think of is maybe the ad_network PHP file is in the wrong place (or with the wrong file name).
