oh wow...you downloaded instead of paying for the ticket to see in the theatre and now your a bitching about it being crap. I think YOU are ridiculous.
I would be stupid or ridiculous if I paid for watching the movie. 2012 is a total insult against all humans who are remotely close to have a basic understanding of logics, and the laws of nature.
does everything in movies have to be 100% realistic? And you basically just insulted all of those that actually paid for it and liked it. If you paid and complained, that I would understand. But if you DOWNLOADED, which was friggin free, and you complain, then i have a problem with that. And don't give me that bandwidth crap. DVD and Blu-Ray versions aren't out so don't tell me you cannot afford the bandwidth.
A movie does not have to be realistic, I'm a big fan of sci-fi movies, but the movie makers have to do it w/o huge logical flaws. Matrix is very good example of doing it right, so is crouching tiger, hidden dragoon, b/c when the actors can "modify" or control the law of physics, they're doing it in a "parallel universe", hence they're not breaking the laws of nature in THIS universe. Transformers 1 and 2 is another example of funny unrealistic movies which are not too stupid. Also, some "unrealistic" movies is not really unrealistic, the actions and scenes are meant to be figuratively interpreted, and abstractions of reality, like many stories from the bible. If you interpret the bible literately, you're close to the young earth creationists.
You said it, IT'S NOT A COMEDY. If it were a comedy, then it would be funny. You can't blame a movie for not being funny if it's not a comedy.
The characters are very close to dying in too many scenes, runways cracking and people running is BS. the story as whole is completely unbelievable. The odds that the earth would collapse in a scenario close to the 2012 catastrophes are about the same as the sun will not rise tomorrow. This kind of Armageddon can only happen in 500 million years to 1 billion years, b/c the sun is very slowly warming. While the movie Armageddon traps itself in exact same logical flaws, Deep Impact actually manages to "behave" somewhat according to the logics and laws of physics. The biggest problem with 2012 is the way the movie, director, and writers have defined the premise for the whole movie. Knowing, starring Nick Cage was average, or better, b/c the use of metaphors and abstractions throughout the movie makes it more "mental" and metaphysical, than physical than purely earthly and concrete matters. 2012 fails miserably the same way as Independence Day, also made by Roland Emmerich. I would not be surprised if Roland Emmerich made an alternative war movie about the Iraq war in 2003, in which the Iraqis totally annihilates the American and British forces completely. Realistic?
It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be honestly. But it was predictable and had excessive "close calls" as I expected it to have. I'd give it maybe a 6/10
If you are looking for a great story, this movie isn't for you! But special effects are really awesome! 10/10
