This is a good list ! But this is just one step in a few. You create the article as indicated and submit out to the article directories. But that's not it.

Then take that article and bookmark the page at the social bookmarking sites. Then take the article and break it up and create a squidoo lens with it. Then do the same thing at hubpages. Then take the article and do a simple powerpoint/camtasia video of it and submit it to the video directories. Then extract out your audio and submit to the audio/podcast directories.

Don't just stop at the article directories, take it further and multiply your efforts with the additional steps.

    Thanks.

"its better to only submit to ezine"

Why is that? Other directories have lots to offer as well.

I really think it is a matter of preference. There are many people I know who swear by ezines yet many others who do not like it. I think that as long as the article directory has manual approval it is worth a try.

I've never had much luck with ezine. I know DLM is a big articlesbase user. The nofollow puts me off though.

I think that article directories should be used to spread your knowledge and expertise and NOT just for SEO purposes. I always recommend that people use both DoFollow and NoFollow directories because it looks much more natural. Yet, stay away from directories with automatic approval. The quality of the articles there are not of high quality as a result of no one checking them for approval.

    Hey,

You and I seem to be on the same page here when it comes to articles, article directories, and submitting articles, but I really haven't made out where you submit yours.

Can you hook me up and tell us where you submit your articles too... Especially if Ezine is crap.

I use ezine to link back to the original article on my website, that's about it. Now, though, when my clients ask me to post their articles on Ezine, then I do at an extra cost, otherwise, I really don't use them.

I look forward to your reply.

    Thanks!

As an above poster mentioned, I prefer ArticlesBase.com - quick approval and decent traffic (but no-follow unfortunately).

I've been testing a few other websites (gather.com, xomba.com & zimbio.com) but I haven't found the formula to getting these to work well for me.

I use others as well (listed a few of them in my last post) - I do use EZA from time to time, along with GoArticles (which has gone downhill recently) and some paid PR sites.

For SEO purposes, unique content is king. Rewrite articles (spun articles are absolute crap to anyone with a basic grasp of the English language). It only takes 5 to 10 minutes to rewrite a 300 word article, so there's no excuse!

I just started using ArticleBase and have been getting a pretty good response. But I also rotate with ezine.

I finally mamaged to get my article approved by ezineA, but it took nearly two weeks, editing and ammending etc,,.. - I also use Goarticles, which has a cool view counter but....

I submitted two articles to goarticles which have had views of just over 100, but.... my tracker at google analytics, records no traffic to my website?? seems strange, not even one click through ( any ideas why?)

I believe submiiting to Ezine is important, however do not ignore the other directories. Some articles you can use to build backlinks and the highest quality ORIGINAL articles to use to make you an authority in your niche.
