    I don't think there is such thing as "latest SEO techniques". SEO doesn't change drastically, you don't have "2009 SEO techniques" that will let you beat the old established sites with thousands of backlinks and great original content published every day.

    There are more and more SEO methods every day, but your better off sticking to the older ones for a new website instead of wasting your time experimenting with the new methods which may not work. Web 2.0 websites are the main source of new SEO methods, twitter and what not.

    One thing that might become a latest SEO technique is to reduce the bounce rate of your site. There's been rumours that it will become a big part of Google's algorithm. Basically find your big landing pages and make them attractive to new visitors.
