    How do you do yours? Like, what do you write on it?

    I have had no success at all with the signature in various forms. It gets me no traffic whatsoever.

    The forum should be highly trafficked just as similar to DP and should ideally be in the same niche as your site... to generate decent enough interest within the members to follow! :)

    Still up to now. forum sig has a great factor on ranking. how can i prove that? Just experiment. i didn't do any link building only Forum posting. but my ranking for the keywords target is up.

    Still, helping them get indexed is a good thing.

    Sure can't hurt. Also exposes your link to actual human traffic. I've gotten a bit of traffic from them.

    They are N/A because they are low quality links. But any backlink might help a little bit.

    yes many of them consider forums as link farms.
    But i do not agree to what they say as my couple of sites got backlinks through DP only.
    It helps us a lot to get our indexed on a regular basis.

    Signature won't help much in serp rankings though if you are just starting a new site it could be a good way to get some links to the site without much work.
