I found my way to this forum by way of an article link discussing how one member went from $10 per week to $800 - talk about inspiring! I decided to join this forum because I've got a real fever now... The last couple of months in 2006 brought with it several goals that were met and surpassed where Google Adsense was concerned. I was able to break my personal records on monthly total - weekly average and daily average. For the first time I knew what it was like to have a $60 plus day that turned into several $60 plus days. My year started out with getting excited over $10 per day - but now, $10 per day would be devastating. Through one of my own websites, I'm teaching other folks who hope to or need to find extra income to do what I've been doing - and at the same time, I'm hoping to learn from other folks here - because $60 per day just isn't going to be enough anymore. I've got several other programs that I earn from and though Google isn't always my biggest, it is a large part of what helps keep me at home with my kids. I've got several goals for 2007 that include bringing in family members who are losing their jobs - so I have to buckle down and get serious. Thus, I'm here on Digital Point where the more serious earners hang out Cheers Gayla
Welcome Gayla, You'll learn lots here. Glad to see you are doing so well already. Your earnings with Adsense are more than most. I'll echo ShoeMoney's advice about bringing in Friends and Family. Hire them as Contractors. Don't make them Partners. You can't afford to lose control. Also make sure you teach them first thing not to click on your ads. Not even from home. Best wishes.
Hi Gayla! T'is lovely to meet a fellow Mum! I started out with Adsense in July 2006 and made $30 in month 1! I am now making between $12-$24 a day! In fact the last few days have been fab. It was only after I found this forum (I was using the DP webmaster tools for years before!!), that I really got to understand more about Ad Placement etc. Keep in touch!
Thanks for the welcome! As for bringing in family and friends? Well, I learned a LONG time ago not to offer up control of anything. I like working for myself and will keep it that way. The only thing I can offer up and feel comfortable is to provide them with the tools they need to develop their 'own' gig like I have. I'm more than happy to introduce them to my readers and help them find their own traffic, but as far as partnering? Nope, I do fly solo there! Thanks for the advice though. It's very sound and should be considered by everyone! Gayla
Welcome! I started in January '06, and have been blown-away by how things are going - I've really had the fever for about 6-months now! My next goal: quitting my job for 'da man by March Good luck!
