It's like Roy and Jon are looking at each other trying to see how the other feels about the roof issue.
I know, I'm half expecting to wake up tomorrow and find it's all been a cruel, cruel dream. I may as well call it a day - 70% of the people in my office are out today
I feel the same way! it's almost as if this isn't really the White Sox. Things will never be the same if they go ahead and wrap this series up! I've been waiting for this for 20+ years and it's just not something I expected to happen for another 20+ years or so.
I didn't think we would see a Chicago team in the World Series in my lifetime -much less a Chicago team that's on the brink of actually winning the series. You're right - if the Sox win this series the expectation bar has officially been raised in Chicago. That's a good thing if you ask me.
Nolan Ryan is one of the most overrated picthers ever! He did put a pretty good beating on Robin Ventura though!
7 no-hitters and thousands of strike outs over a very long and successful career. I don't know about overrated. He didn't ever experience winning a world series did he?
Kerry Wood(s) could bring the heat too- BIG DEAL! Nolan ryan's record is (W)324-(L)292. 7 No-hitters....ZERO Cy Young Awards. 20 game winner just TWO TIMES in 25+ years! OVER-RATED [clap,clap,clap-clap-clap] OVER-RATED!!
I won't get into it but there is more than that. You have to look at the teams he played for and the run support he got. Look at what Roger Clemens did this year. Posting an era under 2.00 yet he was the victim of many low scoring losses. Let me just say there are lots of things that factor into how great a pitcher is.
I know...but he's still not as great as some people make him out to be. I mean he was on some pretty good teams and still couldn't win 50% of his games. Anyway...back to the SOX...
Sorry about the championship series of 93' no hard feelings I hope. 12 years later and the SOX are one win away from a sweet sweep.
Nolan Ryan was awesome. I bet he could still beat you up today. I know he can still throw the heat, because I saw him in some arthritis commercial breaking vegetables or something.
I loved the '93 Jays! That was one hell of a team! I was actually hoping the Sox would hire Cito Gaston before they hired Ozzie.
