Well they have to get to the ALCS first, son. I guess a $200,000,000 payroll doesn't guarantee anything.
ok---my team sucks. Giambi's judgement is poor. Matsui-san is very good. Do you know the end of the yankees run coincided with the signing of Mussina? Good thing we don't have Pettitte on the mound... While I am @ it...I bet Sorianno retires with more walk-off homers in the World Series than A-gump. new tactic...going to try to whine it in.
It'll be the Cardinals. Just because I hate AL baseball. WTF is with the retarded DH rule anyway? My feeling is if you can step on that field and pitch, you can step up to the plate and hit.
Rowland should have been able to get that bunt down in the 9th inning. That was a very poor effort, especially since the main problem was mental. He gave away his bunt when the pitcher threw over to 1st...
Rowand is not a good bunter. The Sox just looked out of it. I'm going tonight and they've won every game I've been to so far this year.
Cards will win. Did you guys hear about the wildfire? http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=32681
I don't see how anyone is gonna to beat St. Louis 4 times. As long as the pitching doesn't have a complete meltdown, they are gonna coast to a World Series victory.
Which call did the ump blow? Sox/Angels? I saw some replays this morning and it looked like it could go either way.
The ball was caught, no doubt about it. The catcher would have thrown to first if it wasn't a clean catch.
I saw the replays and you can't tell. So I'm not quite sure how you can say "no doubt about it." I guess it doesn't matter though- the game's over! Yeah, just like when outfielders trap the ball and try to make it seem like they caught it.
I don't really care either since I would love to see a showdown between the Cards and the White Sox. It did look caught from the slow mo angle I saw.
Didnt the catcher say the UMP didnt say anything...when they normally do if a throw down is required sort of rediculous if you ask me, but my team has gone fishing and I am pleasantly indifferent.
I appreciate your warm feelings about the Yankees. Mel Stotlemeyer, the pitching coach, has effectively told Steinbrenner to shove it. I would not expect to see him in pinstripes again. Cashman, the GM, is no longer under contract, so he can not be fired. Torre could get the ax, under contract for another 2yrs and 12/13 million. The Boss wants sweet Lou back. I want Sorianno, Pettitte and El Duque. Torre should walk---doesnt need the money...the team is a mess and he has a lot of grief. Why would you possibly put up w. this crap? The Yankees have reverted to the team they were in the 80's. Win a lot of games, but never when it matters. Spend, spend, spend w/o thinking of the concept of team. The whole reason the Yankees were dominant for the better part of a decade is directly attributable to Steinbrenner's suspension from baseball for a couple years. During that time, Gene Michael -the GM- allowed the young talent to develop...Jeter/Posada/Rivera/Pettitte/Williams...made a few astute trades...and avoided transactions that made more sense for the New York Daily News or Post than putting together a winning club. Its great Steinbrenner spends his money freely, he should really go back to pasture.
