Guys, Let me make this nice and short: We need a design for a corporate website of ours. The contest will take place in two stages: Stage 1 - You submit your vision on the front page design of the website. The deadline for this is tomorrow (12th April). Stage 2 - The best candidate will get the job, work with me to make necessary modifications to the design and build the site (design of sub-pages, functionality). The deadline for this will be Tuesday, 16th April, assuming that there are no delays from my side. The prize for the whole contest is $200, with a possible bonus of $50-$100 depending on how many modifications and how much additional work is needed. Additional Details: Please download http://bryanoneil.com/cent_design.zip to get an overall idea of the concept, as well as our logo files. It is NOT necessary to follow my initial concept. The concept (three columns) is merely a thought of mine. If you have a better solution in mind for the layout then you're more than welcome to use this in your sketch. It's perfectly fine to submit more than one entry per contestant. The site will need to be Wordpress or Joomla based. Feel free to use an already existing theme, modified to match our profile and logo, as long as it is not pirated. Please ask any questions that you have either in the thread or via PM, but please don't mention our company name within the thread as I don't want the thread starting to rank in search engine for our company name. Submissions via PM please, to avoid others copying your concept in their submissions. Feel free to watermark them. Payments will be made promptly via PayPal in two parts - $50 as soon as the winning concept has been chosen; $150 + any bonus upon the delivery of the work. Ready, set, go! Cheers, Bryan
At the initial stage I only need an image of your initial mock-up. When you win and complete the rest of the work then yes, the delivery package will need to include the source files (if created in Photoshop then the PSD - although creating the design in Photoshop isn't a necessity)
Like I mentioned, the winner should eventually put the site into either Wordpress or Joomla - so this eliminates the code bit. But yes, for the initial submission all I need is an image of the overall concept.
I believe 1 day should be enough to come up with the initial concept, as that's all I need in this stage to decide the winner. If it was 1 day for the whole design (including subpages, fixes, etc.) then that would be a different story. Also - if there are no decent submissions today then I'll also take a look at the visions submitted tomorrow am.
Guys, Since there have been no submissions so far I'm extending the deadline for posting the initial drafts until tomorrow (12th April 12:00 noon GMT). Cheers, Bryan
Hi, I think there is no entries because the winer need to write the codes too and this is difficult...I wanted to create something but I'm beginner in creating websites and I didn't know anything about the codes...
Make it 750.00, & I'm in. Next time I would state in the TITLE... Design and coding contest. I wish you luck as most designers can't code. Regards, friedbass.
I've so far received two and submissions are still open. Coding wise, if you're using a WordPress theme and modifying it then no coding will be required. This is why I mentioned that WP is probably the best platform.
If I may interrupt, modifying a WP theme is already involving codes. With all due respect, the timeframe is ridiculous, and those two submissions, if either win, will give you more headaches than you require. Sorry for being so hard, but you're already hard on us.
Hey all, Just letting everybody know that ajmalhuzz has won the competition and given the gig. Thanks all who participated! Bryan
