Contest $200: Logo, Home, Blog.

I need a website design for this site. Just graphics. No coding. The design contest is for:

• One (1) logo design
• One (1) Home page design
• One (1) Blog page design

$200 is the baseline. Give me your best, a work of art, and I will reward you.

Your primary inspiration should be our original home page, from 2003. We don't do hosting anymore. But the brand is the same.

You can see the theme we are using here. I do not like the style. I DO like the layout.

See the difference between Sahifa and this? There should be just as big a difference between Avada and our new design.

Logo

You can see our original logo here.

The Good:

• Uses our brand font, modified Unicorn (v looks like u in Unicorn)
• I like the chiseled affect

The Bad:

• Does NOT use our brand colors
• Is not circular. I want a circular around it (see below)

Here is a circular logo we used a a long time ago.

Here is more inspiration, one we had done here on DP. I like the circle. But here's the thing. I need the circle to be broken into the 5 brand colors, and indicative of a cycle. This kind of cycle.

Please note: The NZ logo is more friendly than refined. That logo was for community. This site is selling a professional service. It needs to communicate elegance and professionalism. The original design did well for us.

What do I want from a logo? You are the designer. Show me. the basic requirements are:

• Use the brand font.
• Be cyclical
• Use brand colors, either in the company name or in the circle.

Top Nav Page

Header: Logo to the left. To the right, Solutions About Blog Contact

Footer Nav

Footer: See footer on home page.

Home Page

Just mock up something based on the current home page (header nav and footer nav aside). Maybe a conversion funnel.

Blog Right Nav

• Subscribe (newsletter subscription) with name field, email address field, subscribe now button (one color)
• Search (another color)
• Featured Posts (another color)
• Tag Cloud (another color)
• Banner Ad (Click Here to Strategize Your Marketing. Or something like that.)
• Topics ( Community, Business, Marketing, Technology, Web Development )
• Banner Ad (We Work, You Play. Call Today. 1-888-555-5555 or something like that.)

Font, etc:
I do not like Avada’s tiny font. Use Verdana, or other. Links in text should be easily identified as such, and look good at the same time.

H1 tags should be one color, H2 tags another color.

In my head, the v7 is bigger and laid on top of the cyclical indicators. I don't think we need the URL. And the style should be more conservative than radical. I don't know how to communicate this concept other than to say, see this.

I don't know what it is called in graphic design terms, but I feel the original logo had "depth" while these are more "flat" or one dimensional.

A couple things... I like the cyclical indicators, but I think the colors of and style is different from the original brand colors and style. I would like to stay true to the original style a much as possible. And make sure to use the modified unicorn font from the original.

 

See how the name is on top on the circle in this logo? It should be like that. Not inside the circle, on top of it.

1. I like the way the cycle is put together. I think "Inc" should be under, not inside of, the v and seven.

2. I am fairly certain we want to stick wth the modified unicorn font.

3. The trade name should be laid over the cycle, not inside it.

Additionally, I am thinking we probably want the chiseled affect. Not 100% on that. I am open to correction there.

And, colors should be closer to this.

I apologize for not being a better communicator of ideas.

There's a lot I like about that design!

1. The colors looks very close to the original colors.

2. The font is unicorn! Thank you!

But,

1. The unicorn's "v" looks like a "u" so we always modify it manually.

2. The color of the V & 7 and Inc should probably be more like this. Not sure, but we don't use grey. Just these colors.

I very much appreciate the great effort and think we are definitely headed in the right direction. Thank you!
