I have been wondering whether it matters, in terms of SEO, if a link is positioned at a good spot, and get 200 clicks per day vs. a link is positioned at a bad spot and gets 20 clicks per day. Many people just put SEO hardlinks at bottom of their page, and those links seem to have very little traffic going out through them. Is the effect the same if the links were at a high traffic location?
The numbers WILL go up in a high traffic location. But the trend will stay the same. The links on top will get more clicks, and the ones on the bottom will not do so hot. But if you are on a high traffic page, then then the benefit should be great!
If you mean whether it matters or not for SEO... yes. Part of the algorithms take into account clicks and traffic.
