*** $200 design contest ***

I'm back again with another design contest:

I want to redesign PokerEagles.com

Here are the contest requirements/notes:

- Use the same logo as it is now (i dont need a new logo)
- I want a 100% width design (but something like cardplayer is good too - meaning the top navigation header is 100% but the main section is fixed - You have to look at it in a larger monitor to see what i mean)
- I don't have a color preference. So don't ask. but obviously don't use pink. Just use common sense
- This is a poker information site, so make it exciting with gambling vibe into it.

Ok, while I'm waiting for an answer, I decided to play around with your existing logo, and came up with some that has much more class and style. Is it ok if I use this variation that I made, instead?

 

... and with a lovely golden centre.

Thats a good design, but I would want a navigation menu too (like the one I currently have for the website)

 

I hear ya. Navigation menu added underneath the main menu... so it can now actually be seen and used.

There are couple things that I would want different about the design (don't get me wrong though, it looks good)

- I generally like light background and dark text instead of black background and white text.
- I want some space to put my left navigation ads as well. So how about a left banner space toward the right hand side?
- I really like the poker chip picture on top
- I don't mind the yellow color for links, but yellow in general is color of hate, orange is color of convincing, blue is color of loyalty .... and so forth. See if you can use a different color. (maybe a good light version of orange - i dont know)

I like it more each time.

The only other thing that come to my mind right now is:

- The header seems to be too big (height-wise) with not enough graphics/content in it. What do you think of this:

Make the header a little shorter and for the menus (Home, Poker Forum, Poker Pictures, Poker Blog, Poker Directory), use pictures instead of text. (something like the top of this website)
