I just checked my adsense account, to find one of my sites has had 1 page view, and 2 clicks - Leaving me with a 200.00% CTR?!

    Anyone else experienced this before?

    :D

WTF?! I have a CTR of 0.09%. I think you'll get banned for that.

It's for one pageview and is statistically insignificant - high CTRs won't cause a flag unless they are consistent over large numbers of pageviews.

Not necessarily. I regularly middle click (open in a new tab) with firefox, and I think they work with Adsense. If that's the case, and it's 1 page 2 clicks, somebody middle clicked on a couple of ads.

Of course, 2000 clicks from 1000 visits would raise suspicions :)

I think you don't have to worry at all. Adsense Statistics are updating after more minutes or hours so you should check your stats later. If you'll have that 200% CTR after the end of the day I'm sure that you'll get your account banned.

But as I previously said I think you don't have to worry. It's just an updating issue.

I don't understand why you think I would get banned? I'm not responsible for the clicks. I have a network of sites which recieve low traffic, but all have a CTR of 25% - 100%. And they're not MFA sites, just well optimized ads. I see no reason for Google to ban my account, I was just curious of what caused this.

My thinking is that a visitor (the only visitor that day) visited your site, click an ad... found it not interesting and hit the back button to visit your website... and click on another ad again.

It will even out through the day as you get a little more traffic. Nothing to worry about, IMO, unless it remains high over XX or higher page impressions.

No need to get freaked out about it everyone. This happens sometimes, and google understands it. Not a big deal.

it happens on very low page impressions!
it might be 2 things... either the number of clicks is updated before the number of impressions, or the same visitor opened the 1st link in a new tab or window!

but the weird thing is: why when we have low page impressions the CTR is always high and when the number of visitors increases, the CTR starts decreasing???

Yes, I get it a lot. When I browse a web site I always use the "right click, open page in new window" function. What happened on your page is that the visitor did the same. He visited your site and opened two of the ads in new windows. So one page displayed, two ads clicked. I think you will not easily get more than 400% because there are 4 ads in a unit.

Nothing to worry about. If it were 200% from 2000 pageviews, that i would e-mail google.
