200 clicks for $10?

Lets say on average I get 200 clicks a day on a game related website, I find it hard to accept around $10 per day from that (that's like $0.05 per click).

I'm thinking if the average CPC was 0.20/0.30 then that would be bringing in some nice income but at the rate it's going, I am going to need roughly 40,000 unique visitors per day to reach $100.

I guess some people may reply saying the niche isn't great, which is fair enough but I can't imagine anyone having to reach that many uniques per day just to reach $100. Maybe adsense isn't for my site...

Any ideas at all on what I can do?

Affliates maybe? I don't get good amounts for my sites either, though I probably get some better conversion. Adsense isn't all that good on some sites.

Affilitaes would be one alternative. CPC of .05 is low but it is often the norm for gaming sites.

First, try filtering out the low paying ads and see if your earnings increase a significant amount.

How can I know which ads are low paying? since I can't click them and track them there is no way I can find out... or is it pretty much all trial and error?

Gaming websites are notorious for low paying clicks. No surprise there.

Yep, I acquired an arcade site and the few clicks I'm getting are under .05 each.

You really have to look at your keywords and try to find ones that are less competative that cost a little less. Keep in mind that the gaming indusrty is packed so there are many bidding on the same words, raising the cost. Try a keyword program to find some more long tailed keywords, i.e. don't go with Texas Holdem' or poker or gaming. Try something like Texas Holdem for Beginners or something like that. It might be a bad example but hopefully, you get the picture.

Another thing you can try is to turn off showing your ads to Google member sites and keep your clicks within the search engine. many people miss this and lose their shirt, you want people who are specifically looking for what you have not someone who happens to run into it on someone elses site.

I hope this helps a bit!

wow 0.05 per click and i would make 1000$ a day... with the same traffic, i don´t think it is the cpc price but the placement of your ads! 200 clicks is too low for 40000 uniques a day!

I am getting 4000 uniques per day, i used 40,000 as an example of what I would need to get to reach $100 per day.

My CTR is around 3-4 which is pretty good I think, or am I wrong?

It's not just alone arcade site Speedzilla.

You are more likely to get paid higher in specific niche sites than general sites coz, sites with game, entertainment, lyrics, recipe etc ads on them will be selling something way too cheap or will be offering some service for pennies or even worse will be driving ppl to a sign up form to get some free goodies.

You can't expect a lot from them.

Instead if you concentrate on some of the high paying niches, then you'll notice that the click through and CPC goes higher automatically :)

    All Success,
    ~G

$0.05 per click is very normal for a game site. Don`t expect more.

The amount of revenue you generate depends much on what type of site it is. One of my sites discussing security makes an average of $2 per click, while my old site about gaming only made $0.03 per click.
