Use reports and logs from your web hosting company to see where your traffic is coming from.

Analyse your visitor location and their incoming sources whether search engines or links from other sites and the keywords they used to find you.

Yes - I have to agree that this is one of the best things you can do. If you can find where your target audience is coming from you can concentrate on those areas.

Like others have said, find out where the traffic is coming from and focus on it! That way you're not wasting your time.

Just bumped into this thread... thanks for this tips.. actually all these tips are only for online marketing. Many people forget the importance of offline marketing. If your site or biz is catering service or product for local market, it is very important to do offline marketing to let people know about your site.

Great list EasyCash - surely helpful for many DP readers. Just one thing I would add:

Write and publish press releases! There's tons of (high-PR) websites out there that let you publish your press releases for free - just bear in mind that your PR actually needs to be at least half newsworthy (PR about the launch or a major improvement of a website/product/... usually is) or otherwise it won't get published.

Godd list, thanks for sharing. I really like the idea of giving away a freebie such as a useful ebook or other informational product.

Yeah all those 18 points can help to get traffic for your website. But I feel out of 18 only 3 points are gonna serve your purpose i.e. getting targeted traffic.

#3 Exchange reciprocal links with other related websites
#7 Create a free e-book and list in on the "free e-book" sites
#18 Give away a freebie (ebook, report, e-course) to keep people coming back to your site

Note: These are all free. No cost involve for promotion except developement of e-book and tutorials.

    Thats just my opinion

    Thanks for sharing
