I have a website, http://www.commenti.org , before a year i got it as PR 2, but after some time the page rank was dropped. Since that time i have been continuously writing the content over it. But the main site's page rank is still on 0. The content i am writing is good and unique, i have 20 PR 2 pages and several Pr 3 pages. Can anyone tell me what exactly is the problem, and how to overcome this. Also, how can i contact google in this regards! Any help will be really appreciated.. Thanks in advance.
That's because most of your backlink point to your inner page but not the homepage. Build more dofollow link point to your homepage then your homepage will get PR
you dont have enough links..... http://www.majesticseo.com/reports/site-explorer/summary/www.commenti.org
PageRank is calculated on the basis of Back links to a specific page. Your home page is also one specific page it may be index.html or php or whatever which point to your domain. You need to build link for your domain in order to have some PR for that specific URL or page or domain. The panda update has devalued the old links gained due to duplicate or non-quality content. You need more Quality back links to show google that the page has enough trust factor and quality to serve.
The best way to increase page rank is to build quality backlinks. You are doing continuously god work to optimize your website . It may give you the benefit after some time period.
lifeplayer is right. Remember, it's called "page"rank for a reason. Build some quality PR1+ / dofollow backlinks to it and it'll rise.
the only reason is that you don't have much much quality back links for the home page. and the links that got you PR 2 previously are definitely gone after Google panda update. so you are having no PR for the home Page. thanks
I have just had a quick look at your site and I think your links coming in are good, but for some reason your home page is not indexed in google. This is why it is not getting page rank. if you go to google and searchthis: site:www.commenti.org you will find all the pages you have indexed. your homepage never appears. Also none of the pages i checked have H1 or H2 tags - these are important for telling search engines what your page is about. you also have multiple meta descriptions, which may confuse google. I would suggest some on page optimisation along with getting your home page indexed and you should see the PR increase next time it updates. Maybe ping google with your URL and ensure your internal linking structure is passing links back to the homepage to encourage search engines to find it and index it.
Your link profile is quite narrow, try getting links into your site from different sources. maybe try guest posting on a few different sites and including a link back to your site in the posts. You have a good site and getting links from different sources should have a good impact. You don't have a H1 tag on your homepage - i would strongly advise you put one in. this tells search engines what your pages is about! maybe include a meta description and you will be doing fine. keep up the good work!
