Hi All, I'm opening a contest for a business personal branding logo. This is going to be a "Peace Of Cake" for the someone who knows what he/she is doing. I am the Director of Graphic Design for an Internet Marketer. His name is Narek Gabrielyan. I want to make your job as easy as possible, so here is some more information: 1) The logo will be used in multiple media, so it must work well on something as small as a business card and large as a sign. It must also look good in print and black & white newspaper print, as well as on the web. In other words, it will be used in our website and also possibly flyers, business cards and posters, so we will need a re-sizeable printable format as well. From what I understand, I will also need it as a vector file. 2) Please do not use gradients or shading. They tend to look “muddy†in newsprint. 3) Colors: I’d like a navy blue and yellow (please only use web safe colors) and stick with two colors. Sample colors: http://cosida.com/logos/CA/UCLA-Color.jpg 4) The logo should just be the name of the CEO (Narek Gabrielyan), Initials, or combination – any design elements need to be incorporated within the font. I don’t want extra graphics outside of the name. Feel free to show your sophisticated talent. 5) As far as the style is concerned, I want something bold and contemporary. See sample logos here: a)http://mikefilsaime.com/blog4/cssjs/images/logo.gif b)http://brianedmondson.com/blog/wp-content/themes/bosco20/images/blogheader1.jpg (the shield on the right) 8) I’d like to have it without a background too, so I can put it in front of any background. 9) the winner should be able to provide: a) names of fonts used b) colors used c) logo in vector, .psd and .jpg formats Payment via PayPal on completion. We reserve the right to not choose any logo if we don't like them, but I'm sure this will not happen. Competition will remain open for 10 days or until a suitable entry is found. Any questions please ask in this thread or pm me. If you intend to enter this contest just drop a line in this thread saying you're going to enter it! Thanks! ~Greg "Turn on your imagination"
Here's my entry; let me know if you want any changes made to it. NOTE: The background is only for presentation, it'll be delivered with a transparent background (PNG format, since jpg doesn't support transparency).
Thank you for trying to do something. Just some comments: @Sanma: The collars are just right, but I am looking for something similar to the sample logos. Meaning, something on a shield. And feel free to experiment with the color placement... @nwsn3twrkshp: I like the fact that you actually put the initials in an interesting way together. However, I am looking for something with a shield. possible shapes for a shield: 1)http://payyourdreams.com/logos/templogos/shield1.tiff 2)http://payyourdreams.com/logos/templogos/shield2.tiff If you find a Royalty Free Image that you could use... show me, and I will buy it for you to use in the logo... Looking forward to seeing your feedback... Greg
Here are some examples of what we are looking for: http://payyourdreams.com/logos/templogos/examplelogo.tiff http://payyourdreams.com/logos/templogos/examplelogo2.tiff thanks, Greg
Ok, my new attempt. NOTE: I made it using only the 2 colors you mentioned, but adding either black or white to the font (with the yellow stroke) will make it look better, but it's your choice. I can make it like that for you to see if you want.
Thanks to those who posted their work. Some Feedback: @untitledstudios: Nice implementation of the G looking like an arrow. It would look better if the end of the arrow was a little bit up so the left wing of the arrow is in horizontal position. That way it is going to look like an arrow and a letter G. Let me know if you could could use different shape for the shield: the ones I showed you. You are quick and grasp what I want really fast. Your advice: Do you think the intersection of N and G looks like a letter A? @Solutions: Very impressive. I asked Narek... he likes the left upper one just because it is simple, and he likes the new perspective. About the design: it is a little bit confusing, can't tell whether there is a J, V, or G... @Sanma: The shield shape is prity close to the one I am looking for. Please feel free to include black or any shade to make it look attractive. Use your expertise and any information that you know that would make it look better. See if you can have a G look like an arrow... see what untitledstudios did... Web 2.0 type of logos and glassy logos are welcome. Thanks again, Greg
The example to follow is the one on the top in a green circle here: http://payyourdreams.com/logos/templogos/examplelogo.tiff @Sanma: it looks better than the previous one, but it is too simple at this point. see the examples in my fist post and the one above. @tGriff: You actually tried to follow the examples. At this point they look too simple. See the feedback for Sanma above. Question: How easy it is to make a logo glassy after the plain version is complete? @nwsn3twrkshp: It is getting better, I like the shield, good job. However, the initials are too dry and robotic. Try making the example logo I gave above. Want to see what you think. @Gorgon: This is closer... I don't know, but let me ask Narek and get back to you. I am excited to see you genius logos, Greg
