20 new domains....how should they be hosted?

    I have a competitor who has 30 domains such as widget.com buywidgets.com orderwidgets.com etc.

They are all on the same domain and are considered spam by Google as they wont go past the index page.

I have recently ordered 20 myself and am wondering how to place them?

I was thinking of registering them as a different email address for the registrar.

I was also thinking of getting a different IP for each domain.

Any other suggestions? Am I being too careful here?

Or you could have them hosted at different hosts...(this will also tell you which one is the best host..)

I'd go with different hosts so atleast if one host is down, half my sites are still up and running...

Yes, I could do that. That is the obvious solution but there must be hosts that cater to people in my situation with multiple sites and know exactly what I am trying to do.

Having to worry about a host being down is a very minor worry.

Yes, I could go out and get 5 seperate hosting companies and create a nightmare of paperwork and bills to pay. I would rather consolidate under one host company.

Still though, my question is....what would someone else do if they had 20 sites????

Seperate servers, and seperate registration of the domains. Is that all, or am I missing something?

different IPs are not required until you are planning to link all sites to one another, if they are going to be independent then just buy reseller account and host them.

    Good luck

They are going to be linked together. So I think that I should get seperate IPs for all?

You need to have a reseller account so that you can host all your domains on one reseller account. You can contact me if you need a reseller account.

Thanks but I think the best way to host these is to call up 4 seperate hosting companies in my city and set up 4 accts with 5 domains on each.

It will cost me around $10 X 4 a month on average. These are just tiny little 20 page sites.

I will have to structure the links between them like this.

    A to D
    D to B
    B to C
    C to A

This way they will not be considered a link exchange. They will also have seperate content. Seperate registration email contact and seperate IPs.

It will be just like 4 different people are hosting seperate similar sites on 5 different IPs.

Naturally and the way search engines are supposed to work. Nothing black hat about this.
