$20 Logo Contest!

Hey,

For the site www.all-history.com I'm looking for a good logo. There's $20 for the person who gets me one. The logo is, obviously, for a history-site. I'm looking for something with a history feel to it, for example through use of a picture of something historic. But you're of course free to use your imagination, and the picture is definately not a must-have.

The site isn't online yet, you're welcome to use any colour you'd like, but I'd rather not have too much bright colours.

The logo is for a header, and if possible I want to use AdSense on half of the header, so it should fit in half the header, or I should be able to overlap it with AdSense if I want to, without messing up the logo.

The winner should deliver:
* Vector files and Fonts
* Web formats (.gif and .jpg)

This contest ends on December 24th, noon Central European Time.

I like the idea, especially the one on the top right, but I think the picture of the book should be a bit more detailed, more 'book-like'.

Those are all very nice tries, and I very much appreciate your work. As requested, the feedback:

Sandeepramje: I like it, but I'd rather also have a picture included.

Technoguy1: I'm sorry, but I think it's a little too cartoonesque. I like the pic on the right, the hoplite, the most.

Technoguy2: Much better! Perhaps a little too much of a 'dark' feel to it, but I very much like you use of the clock.

Bikerjeg: Very nice! My favorite so far. Good use of historical pictures, nice colours, very well done!

Technoguy3: This is your best one so far, and my second favourite.

Brainstormingin: Nice, but a little too cartoonesque...

Brainstormingin: Much better! But the pic is, well, fake, and that makes a bad impression for a site which tries to be factual.

.Cyanide: Also very nice, but it looks a lot like the on from bikerjeg.

Bikerjeg's is still my favourite, but keep them coming!

 

Omg, it doesnt look at all like his, for example, his is a contour of a book plus two pictures in it, mine is a book with pages :S

Tell me how to make an open book with pages without making it look a bit like another open book with pages.
