Name and Tagline: ShoppingAnalyst Consumer Experience Reviews Theme: Blogger reviews shopping experiences at various businesses. $20 to the winner via PayPal. Feedback given on all submissions. Updates: PSD preferred since background color is not yet determined on website. Size: No more than 100 pixels in height; maximum 350 pixels in width. Background color of header (where logo will be placed) is 334F60.
PSD is preferred. A larger bitmap would be ok IF the sample background is easily removable without damaging the logo.
I can do JPG or PNG in Flash (my tool of choice). I'll save the work file so I'll be able to remove the background if you choose mine.
100% vectors plus scalable .psd. The icon is made by me so don't worry about copyright infringement. Feedback is appreciated.
Here is my try... Nothing to worry about my icon too... http://i49.tinypic.com/67r3gj.png Feedback appreciated Thanks!
Thank-you all for your submissions so far. We're off to a great start. Here is some feedback for each entrant. @ViolentAJ: I am looking for something a little more professional in theme, so the clipart style drawing would not work for me. I think the text part needs to make more impact as well. It's a bit understated. @bodil4o: The outer glow reduces the quality here. I would like to see logos with a little more color variation. The carts look ok, but I'm not sure of the metaphor and it may be too generic on its own to be original. @ZinniDoll: I believe the text / icon alignment is a little off. I am also not really a fan of drop shadows unless done very carefully in logos. This might work better with colors shifted more into the blue/green color spectrum. The neon + yellow is not quite a good match for the theme, IMO. @minucosminu: Outstanding work. This is my favorite so far. While I prefer the white version, I am constrained by the background color. I am curious if (in the dark background version) the blue colored "Analyst" and the black colored "Consumer Experience Reviews" (from the white version) would work? Thank-you to all for your efforts. I love seeing the different creative approaches you have taken. =)
@oliv3r: Beautiful work. I really like your design. It actually might have worked well for another logo I had in mind as well. I like the mirrow effect. I should probably put the text up to the right of the graphic part, perfectly aligned with the top and the bottom of the graphic. Do you have a portfolio? I would like to see some of your other work. @Chewysmom: I think you did a good job with a Web 2.0 style design. It's a bit more feminine in feeling, and I think is shifted towards female retail shopping in theme. I am aiming for something a little more broad spectrum, i.e. any type of consumer shopping experience. @minucosminu: I love the color combo in the large sample. It looks great at 350x100, but the color for Analyst does not look the same as the the color used in the large one. Maybe the gray lines (within the cart) could be made solid rather than 2 thin double lines, and reduced to 3 so that it holds up better at 350x100? I am not sure if that would work or not. Great work everyone! =)
@oliv3r: Very nice. I like the new version. @minucosminu: Yes, I think the cart looks better now with the solid lines it in (at 100 x 350). @Chewysmom: New version much better. It brings the formal level into it that I was hoping for. @ChSajid: Very nice design. I like the top one with the cart centered over the text, even though I generally prefer the more horizontally positioned layout. The tagline is a bit distorted, but I'm sure that could be fixed easily. For your cart, you might want to get rid of the inner cart rails altogether so you can see the SA more clearly, without obstruction. Or maybe just two lines instead. Great work all! =)
